Application of feed additive "allicin"

Allicin is the general name of the main bioactive component in garlic. Allicin has been used as a medicine for a long time in China. It is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent with many biological functions, such as anti-inflammation, lowering blood pressure, reducing blood lipid, inhibiting platelet aggregation, preventing cancer and virus, etc. Its feed additives for animal husbandry and aquaculture are researched, developed and utilized according to the development of rural aquaculture, and it is worth popularizing. Now the author introduces the application technology as follows for readers' reference.






(a) the function of allicin






1, sterilization. Allicin has a good inhibitory and killing effect on Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa which cause animal diseases in livestock and aquatic products, especially on enteritis of dairy cows and pigs, gill rot of grass carp, red skin disease and fulminant infectious diseases of fish. At present, it is an effective way to prevent and cure epidemic diseases in rural areas in order to save money and develop aquaculture.






2. Improve the palatability of feed. In recent years, in order to reduce the cost of feed, many farmers often use some feed with poor palatability or add some growth-promoting drugs into the compound feed, which leads to the decrease of feed intake or refusal of feeding of cultured animals, resulting in slow growth and emaciation of animals. Adding allicin can obviously improve the palatability of feed and increase feed intake.






Allicin attracts animals to eat feed through the smell of garlic, which makes them have appetite, thus increasing their feed intake. Most animals, especially fish, like the smell of allicin very much.






3. Improve the production performance. Allicin can not only increase the feed intake of animals, but also prevent and treat various diseases, improve immune function, improve the functions of various systems and tissues in animals, promote gastrointestinal peristalsis and secretion of various digestive enzymes, and improve the digestion and utilization of feed by livestock and fish, thus improving production performance and reducing feed costs.






Allicin can be turned into allicin under the action of enzyme, which is discharged in the form of excrement and urine, which can prevent breeding and growth of pests in breeding and improve the environment of pens and ponds.






(2) The usage and dosage of allicin. Add fresh garlic. Mashed, chopped or minced into garlic paste with meat grinder, and then added into feed. Or mixing fresh garlic with feed raw materials, and pulverizing. The proportion of fresh garlic in feed is 1%-10%, and it is added according to the size of livestock and poultry. Generally, it is divided into three types: small, medium and large (that is, small 1%-2%, medium 2%-4% or 5%-6% and big 8%-10%).






(3) Application effect of allicin in animal husbandry. The author has tested in our county's foreign trade egg-laying chicken farm. Compared with the egg-laying hens fed with no allicin feed, adding 50, 67, 84, 100 mg of allicin per kilogram of daily ration can increase the egg-laying rate by 2.73%, 5.95%, 11.10% and 7.83% respectively, with significant differences. Experiments on dairy cows show that allicin can make the concentrate of dairy cows produce rich natural fragrance, and it has a strong food attraction effect on dairy cows. Statistics show that the daily milk yield of each dairy cow can be increased by 2.28kg, the roughage intake can be reduced by 0.08kg/day, and the daily income can be increased by 6-8 yuan. In the experiment of lactating sows, it was found that allicin can increase the feed intake of pigs. The experiment on piglets weaned for 15-28 days showed that the daily gain of piglets fed with 100 mg/kg allicin increased and the feed-to-meat ratio decreased, which was significantly different from that of piglets fed with no allicin.






(4) The effect of allicin in fish production. The tilapia was fed with allicin at the dosage of 500mg/kg for 45 days in Yanxia Reservoir, Tongshan County, Hubei Province. It was found that allicin had a strong attractant effect, and the feed reward increased by 11%, the comprehensive evaluation value of feed biology increased by 12%, the survival rate increased by 2%-5%, and the weight gain rate also increased. Using allicin in Rujiatian Reservoir of Tongxian County has a good food attraction effect on crucian carp, grass carp and carp. Hubei E 'nan Feed Additive Technology Development Service Center adopts air-dried garlic heads with roots. Grind into powder by a meat grinder, heat and steam to obtain a mixture of oil and water. After separation, the obtained garlic oil is added at 0.008% of the bait weight and then fed to grass carp. The survival rate is increased by more than 15%, and the weight gain of tilapia is increased by 10%-15%.






(5) Application prospect of allicin. According to the above practice, allicin can obviously improve production performance, reduce morbidity and mortality, and increase breeding benefits. It can partially replace antibiotics to reduce the drug resistance of microorganisms, which has a beneficial impact on the health of livestock and fish. Adding allicin to feed can be a way to solve the antibiotic problem.
